Course Content
Development of Health Sociology; Health, disease concept; Organization of health services; organization of health services; social position of women and body sociology of health; traditional, complementary and alternative medicine; commodification of midwifery services and childbirth; health and religion; the medicalization of society and everyday life; being a parent, fetus gender preference and reasons; sociological examination of reproductive health services; reflection of social inequalities in the field of health; economic, regional, gender and ethnic inequalities; The social roles of midwives: an examination of the midwife profession from the perspective of the sociology of the medical profession.
Objectives of the Course
This course aims to provide students with knowledge about the sociology of health, to evaluate the social determinants of health, health systems and the problems experienced in the field of midwifery from a sociological perspective.
