Midwifery Undergraduate Program started education in the fall semester of the 2016-2017 academic year within the School of Health Sciences. After successfully completing their 4-year education, students are entitled to receive the "Undergraduate Diploma in Midwifery" and the title of "Midwife". The School of Health Sciences was transformed into the Faculty of Health Sciences with the decision numbered 2023/7477 published in the Official Gazette numbered 32268 dated August 4, 2023. He currently continues his education within the Faculty of Health Sciences. She started the Midwifery Thesis Master's Program within the Graduate Education Institute in the Fall Semester of the 2023-2024 Academic Year and is still continuing her education.
The purpose of the Midwifery Undergraduate Program is; KTO Karatay University Midwifery Department offers students who have developed research and problem solving skills with contemporary education principles, are sensitive to cultural differences, closely follow current practices, can take responsibility independently or as a member of the healthcare team, are sensitive to professional ethical rules, are forward-thinking, have developed spiritual skills, are holistic. It aims to train midwives who have a positive perspective, respect the naturalness and privacy of birth, and focus on women's needs. In developed countries where the midwifery care model is implemented, the rate of positive experiences of birth and postpartum period is high; The rate of unnecessary intervention, cesarean section, and maternal and infant mortality is low. The implementation of the midwifery care model is one of the most important elements that increase the development level of society. In this direction, KTO Karatay University Midwifery Department strives to train midwives who adopt, implement and develop the midwifery care model.
According to YKS placement results; In 2016, it had the highest number of first students among 9 foundation universities; In 2017, it had the fourth highest number of students among 8 foundation universities; In 2018, it had the fourth highest number of students among 11 foundation universities; In 2019, it had the second highest number of students among 11 foundation universities; The highest number of students among 15 foundation universities in 2020; The fourth highest student ranking among 15 foundation universities in 2021; The second highest number of students among 15 foundation universities in 2022; In 2023, it received the highest number of students among 17 foundation universities.
