Course Content
This course aims to develop the scientific thinking skills of senior midwifery students to write a research article in their field. Within the scope of the course, students will learn the basic stages of the research process, starting from the identification of the research topic, such as literature review, formulation of research questions, selection of appropriate methods, data collection and analysis. In addition, practical issues such as scientific ethics, sample selection, use of data collection tools and ethics committee processes will be covered. In the following weeks of the course, students will learn how to write introduction, method, findings, discussion and conclusion sections in accordance with academic writing rules and how to organise references in APA 7 format; they will gain the ability to prepare their articles for the publication process. They will receive peer feedback by sharing the articles they have written with student presentations in the last week. In this way, students will gain proficiency in academic writing before graduation.
