Course Content
Aromatherapy in history and today includes the following topics: essential oils and their working mechanism/scent testing; extraction and storage of essential oils/scent testing; toxicity and contraindications in essential oils/scent testing; creating synergy with essential oil blends/scent testing; essential oil application methods/scent testing; preparation of aromatic blend samples; aromatherapy specific to the menstrual cycle; aromatherapy specific to pregnancy; aromatherapy specific to the postpartum period; aromatherapy specific to lactation and infancy; and aromatherapy specific to menopause.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to enable students to use appropriate essential aromatic oils safely in midwifery practices during menstrual cycle, pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, lactation and menopause.
