Course Content
Definition, frequency, epidemiology, classification of abuse; situation of child abuse-neglect in the world and in our country, neglect and abuse in terms of children's rights declaration; risk factors, causes and dynamics of child abuse; diagnosis and types of child abuse; physical abuse; emotional abuse; sexual abuse; history taking; genito-anal examination; psychological assessment of the family and the child; physical complications and their prevention; spiritual approach to family and child, treatment and orientation, rehabilitation of family and child; short and long term psychological and behavioral effects of sexual abuse; approach to sexual abuse in adolescents; forensic medical evaluation of sexual abuse; It includes the Turkish Penal Code and regulations concerning physicians, the legal dimension of child abuse and legal regulations regarding child abuse.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to teach the concepts of child abuse and neglect and the knowledge and skills related to prevention methods.
