Course Content
In this course, the definition, importance and basic principles of midwifery care plan are discussed and students are aimed to use the care process effectively. Within the scope of midwifery care process, assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation and evaluation steps are covered in detail. Care plans to be given in adolescence, pregnancy, puerperium and menopause periods in accordance with the life cycle of the woman are explained with examples. Information on care planning in risky pregnancies and newborn period is presented. The concept of counseling, its role in midwifery and the basic principles of health counseling are discussed. Effective communication techniques, individual-specific counseling skills and health education planning are emphasized. Counseling services for family planning, sexual health, adolescents and special groups are detailed. Planning and implementation of counseling services within the framework of cultural sensitivity and ethical approaches are supported.
