Course Content
Fundamentals of midwifery; activities of daily living model; the midwifery process: midwifery assessment, planning, implementation, evaluation, documentation, and reporting; vital signs; laboratory procedures; medication management; phlebotomy; parenteral medication administration; intravenous fluid therapy; medication errors; activities to ensure and maintain a safe environment; patient admission, transfer, and discharge process; patient safety; infection control, maintaining tissue integrity, and wound care; maintaining respiration and related practices; nutrition care; urinary system and related procedures; body temperature management and hot/cold applications; pain management; mobility, body mechanics, and patient repositioning; ensuring sleep and rest; personal hygiene and dressing; blood transfusion procedures; preoperative, intraoperative, and postoperative care; sexuality and sleep; and the process of loss and death.
Objectives of the Course
It aims to provide basic knowledge and skills of midwifery to give care to women and family.

1 Meeting, presentation of the semester course execution plan, basic concepts, human and basic human needs, health, disease, environment concept, homeostasis and care concept
2 Midwifery process: midwifery diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation, recording and reporting
3 Vital signs
4 Drug applications (Oral, Eye, Nose, Ear, Rectal, Vaginal, Inhalation, Intradermal)
5 Drug applications (Subcutaneous, Intramuscular, Intravenous)
6 Personal cleaning and dressing activity: hygiene practices, infection control, asepsis, antisepsis, isolation types and rules, tissue integrity and wound care
7 Activity of providing and maintaining a safe environment: patient admission-transport and discharge process, patient safety
