Course Content
Purpose and fundamentals of heat treatment; iron-carbon equilibrium diagram; hardening, tempering, annealing, and normalizing; surface hardening processes; furnaces and equipment; heat treatment defects and quality control; applications in the defense industry.
Objectives of the Course
To teach the principles, parameters, and applications of heat treatment processes used to modify the mechanical and physical properties of metallic materials, with a focus on their applications in the defense and weapon industries.
