Course Content
The "Foreign Trade Operations"course provides a comprehensive overview of international trade processes, beginning with the fundamentals and significance of foreign trade. The course examines international trade theories and policies, enabling students to understand the strategic and economic rationale behind trade decisions. It covers the parties involved in foreign trade and the institutional structures that support them, followed by an in-depth study of commercial and official trade documents. Students gain practical knowledge through the study of delivery terms, payment methods, and their applications, including case studies such as export transactions. Customs procedures and regimes, transportation, and insurance practices are analyzed to teach risk management and compliance. The course also addresses the management of export and import processes, as well as taxation, financing, and government incentives. It introduces international trade contracts and dispute resolution mechanisms, ensuring students are familiar with the legal framework and conflict management strategies. Finally, digital foreign trade, e-export practices, and current trade trends are discussed, providing students with insight into the technological innovations and contemporary developments shaping the global trading environment.
Objectives of the Course
The primary aim of this course is to enable students to gain a comprehensive understanding of international trade processes. Students will not only grasp the role of foreign trade within the economic system and understand international trade theories and policies, but they will also be able to accurately identify the parties, institutional structures, and documents involved in foreign trade operations. The course provides practical knowledge on delivery terms, payment methods, customs procedures, transportation, and insurance processes, equipping students with the skills to analyze real-world trade scenarios.
