Course Content
This course covers various social dimensions and relations of political life. At the end of this course, students are expected to comprehend the emergence of political sociology as a discipline, its subject and scope, political socialization, political participation, factors affecting participation, participatory citizens and democracy, political culture, political change and revolutions, identity and politics, political and social movements, ideology, power, risk society and political consequences of political sociology by using a contemporary political perspective, and to graduate as citizens who have internalized democratic values and are democratic participants.
Objectives of the Course
This course aims to promote the fundamental concepts of political sociology, the development of political thought and the relations between politics and other social institutions as a social institution.
