Course Content
The characteristic structures of the Islamic world and Muslim communities, the leaders of thought and movements that have left important traces as locomotives shaping the Islamic world, the movements that are active today and their characteristic structures, the conflicts and changes experienced by the Islamic world due to globalization, modernization, etc. Evaluation of the conflicts and changes experienced by the Islamic world from a sociological perspective, Studies and resources related to the sociology of Islam and Muslim societies.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to examine Muslim societies and communities with a sociological perspective and a holistic perspective. Therefore, within the scope of this course, the general characteristics of the world of Islam, its historical roots and general lines, the locomotive thinkers and movements shaping Muslims and international organizations will be examined; the struggle and change struggles that emerged with modernization and globalization will be analyzed. In addition, an infrastructure for collecting sociological studies of Islam and Muslim societies will be sought to provide a holistic view and to ensure resource accumulation.
