Course Content
This derives from the concepts of multiculturalism, race, ethnicity and identity. Derste's theoretical inspirations of multicultural social work, multicultural social work interview techniques, local perspectives on social work, cultural turnover debates in social sciences are discussed in detail.

3 Cultural sensitivity, cultural competence, being culturally competent in social work practice
4 Knowledge, skills and value base in Multicultural Social Work Practice (I)
5 A critical look at Multicultural Social Work Practice (USA, Canada example)
6 Geert Hofstede's theory of the cultural dimension and understanding the problems of multicultural communities

8 Various approaches to working with different sociocultural groups (anti-oppression practice, radical social work, anti-racist practice, anti-discrimination practice)
9 Social work practices with immigrant individuals and groups
10 Gordon Allport's social contact hypothesis, Hate speech, Critical discourse analysis, marginalizing language in the media
11 An example of social inclusion model for different sociocultural groups (Konya Tatlıcak Mahallesi example)
12 A sociological research on novels (the case of Kocaeli)
