Course Content
The content of this course consists of understanding the theoretical perspectives of spirituality and spiritual development across the lifespan and their significance for social work, exploring aspects of an ethical, spiritually sensitive practice approach, engaging in discussions on the development of skills and attitudes for spiritual sensitivity in practice, developing an understanding of the role of spiritual and existential issues in areas such as trauma, suffering, illness, recovery, resilience and general health and well-being.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to acquire the basic knowledge and skills to explore ways in which spirituality can be incorporated into interventions by gaining the skills to make biopsychosocial spiritual assessments and to develop a spirituality-sensitive social work framework for social work practice.

5 Discussing the place of the concept of spiritual competence in social work practices
6 Spiritual competence standards
7 An understanding of the techniques used in spiritually competent practices

9 Ethical principles and responsibilities in spiritual social work practices (1)
10 Ethical principles and responsibilities in spiritual social work practices (2)
11 Spiritual social work practices in Western and Eastern societies and country examples
12 Spiritual social work and social psychological backgrounds in family, children, adolescents, youth, adults, middle-aged and elderly
13 Organization of theoretical and systematic view on the subject with Selected Case Examples.
