Course Content
History of social policy, the relationship between social policy and social welfare, social policy development, social policy analysis, impact assessment, the importance of social policy for social work practice, the role and function of social workers in social policies, Planning: types and approaches of planning, Turkey planning studies.
Objectives of the Course
In this course, it is aimed to discuss the birth of social policy, the subject, objectives, tools of social policy discipline, the historical background of the relationship between social work and social policy, the relationship between social work and social policy, planning in social work and social policy practices in various problem areas.

1 The general course of the course, discussion about the goals and expectations, The subject of social policy and basic concepts: policy, social policy, social welfare, social problem
2 The developments that paved the way for the birth of social policy, the emergence of social policy as a modern phenomenon, critical approaches in social policy, the main purpose of social policy, the objectives of social policy: social justice, social integration, social peace, social democracy, social balance, social development. Social development and general lines of social development, social development indicators.
3 The birth and historical development of the welfare state, the relationship between the welfare state and social policy, the relationship between social policy and social work, the construction of social policies in Turkey.
4 Production and delivery of welfare, Social policy actors: state, local government, family, market, non-governmental organizations. Coordination of social policies and efforts to integrate the institutional structure, international social policy
5 Neoliberal economic policies, new public administration and its reflection on social services (new social work management in the context of risks and uncertainties)
6 Welfare state classifications, evaluation of welfare state models in terms of gender, demilitarization, decommodification and evaluation of Turkey's position in welfare classifications
