Course Content
This course is a continuation of Reading and Speaking in a Foreign Language (I) course and includes readings on book chapters, research articles and project reports on the basic topics of social work. In addition, students are encouraged to make oral presentations on related topics.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to bring our students to the level of proficiency in which they can express themselves verbally and in written English, and understand what they read, both during their university education and after graduation.

Week Topics
1 Information and an overview of the term, projects, and exams.
2 Pages 29-32, Module 7: Time Management. Information and exercises on to-do lists, backward planning, and the ABC Grid.
3 As a group activity, creating a calendar using time management techniques from Module 7. An activity on time management utilizing discussion strategies.
4 Pages 33-36, Module 8: Healthy Habits. Exchange of ideas on how habits develop into positive or negative patterns. Identifying good and bad habits through sample patient complaints.
5 Discussion and activity on how habits can be changed. Vocabulary exercises for Module 8.
6 Pages 37-40, Module 9: Social and Individual Responsibilities. Dialogue on workplace ethics through case scenarios.
7 Module 9: Presentation of project on workplace ethics issues researched in pairs. Changes in work culture across different countries.
8 Pages 41-44, Module 10: Branding and Basics. Job applications, brands, and online job interviews.
9 Personal Branding, review of activities and projects from Module 10.
10 Pages 45-48, Module 11: Job Search, Networking. Discussing network building and the people around us. Identifying the strengths and weaknesses of sample individuals in terms of networking.
11 Module 11: Research and presentation on how professional groups utilize networking. Review of vocabulary from the unit.
12 Pages 49-52, Module 12: Interviews. Job Interviews and Principles. Analysis of multiple-choice questions within case scenarios.
13 Module 12: Vocabulary review. Discussion on unconventional methods of employment and examles from three excerpts.
14 Final Week. Review of modules, vocabulary, and discussion strategies. Introduction to exam format and topics.
