Course Content
Definition of social work as a science and profession, its theoretical and philosophical foundations; purpose and focus of social work. Distinctive features and functions of social work compared to other sciences; knowledge, skills and value basis of social work, social work intervention methods, contemporary theories in social work, generalist social work approach
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course; To enable students to recognize the philosophy, values, knowledge base, functions of social work as a discipline and profession, and the roles and functions of social workers.
