Weekly Detailed Course Contents

| 1 | Meeting and introducing; course objectives; Behaviors required from the student, materials, discipline, absenteeism, exam type and weeks are discussed. |
| 2 | Directions are introduced (North, South, North, East) and used in example sentences. Prepositions indicating location (between, opposite, behind, etc.) are taught and used in sentences, and exercises are given. The language materials given for this purpose are given to the student first in auditory and then in literary form. Students are asked to indicate the location of the items in their rooms, using prepositions of place, to present in the following week. |
| 3 | Last week's activity is repeated with changes. Appropriate activities and exercises are performed regarding this subject. Then, students are paired and asked to transfer the homework determined last week to each other. |
| 4 | In the target language, nouns such as avenue, street, intersection and similar are taught and used in sentences with alternative expressions. Students are paired and allowed to use the expressions related to prepositions and directional nouns taught in the 2nd and 3rd weeks in appropriate activities and exercises. |
| 5 | Some important and common place names are taught. (Pharmacy, hospital, post office, etc.) is combined with place and direction expressions and used in appropriate sentences. |
| 6 | Combination: 2 pictures (from the internet or any book) showing a place on a street and a picture of objects in a room are found, copied and the students are paired and asked to use the taught expressions. |
| 7 | MIDTERM EXAM The exercise done in the previous week is asked in the same exam. The teacher decides the matches. This ensures that the dialogue is meaningful. (If the class size is 25, an oral exam is held, and if the class size is above 25, a written exam is held. The scope and style of the oral exam are similar to those given in the course. Written exams consist of multiple choice, true-false, fill-in-the-blank and/or short paragraphs.) |
| 8 | In the weeks before the midterm exam, all expressions, sentences and phrases taught in the target language are briefly reviewed as a reminder. Appropriate activities and exercises are performed. |
| 9 | The necessary expressions and phrases for asking for an address in the target language are taught. Practice is done using the place names that have been taught before. |
| 10 | "Which way can I use to go faster? Which public transportation vehicle should I use? * How long does the road take? Expressions such as these are taught and practiced. (The names of public transportation vehicles are taught before the lesson.) |
| 11 | What was taught in the 9th and 10th weeks is combined and practiced. |
| 12 | All necessary words, expressions and phrases regarding address description are taught and practiced. |
| 13 | Students are paired together and asked to ask for and describe the address using the taught expressions in a single dialogue. At the end of the course, a sample dialogue in this context is given to the students. |
| 14 | A picture showing various places on a street or in a city is brought to the class. Students are asked to pair up and answer questions about the address of a place in the picture. They are asked to prepare a dialogue for this activity. |
