Course Content
The course covers the basic elements of the generalist approach in social work, ethical principles and values, interviewing in social work, basic communication skills in interviewing, use of self, cultural competence, interview stages, interview techniques, interviewing with different service beneficiaries, difficult situations in interviewing and coping with them, motivational interviewing in social work practice and record keeping and reporting.
Objectives of the Course
In order to understand the situation they are in with individuals and families, to analyze the problem and to help them cope with their problems, the general interview rules used by social workers in institutional settings, the use of interview techniques, process, content, ethical dilemmas and other clinical issues in interviews constitute the content of this course.
