Course Content
This course will provide graduate students and those working in the field with the opportunity to get to know various addictions, to explore current practices and new perspectives on them. In this course, alcohol and substance addiction will be emphasised. Developmental addictions and social environment in the formation and development of addiction will be discussed. The developmental stages of substance addiction will be explained with concrete examples. The triad of prevention - treatment and rehabilitation in addiction will be discussed and the contributions of social work practices to the studies in these three dimensions will be elaborated.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of the course is to review the different dimensions of addiction types with students and to expand knowledge and skills for advanced social work practice in the field of addiction.
