Course Content
Within the scope of the course, students work practically in groups on interdisciplinary projects.The process includes steps such as project research, concept development, project implementation and communication strategies.The course includes design workshops on contemporary issues. Students are expected to realise a concrete and feasible project at the end. The use of experimental methods in design is encouraged. Students define, ideate, structure, prototype, develop and analyse their projects.
Objectives of the Course
The programs associated with the graphic design program aim to create a new domain by using interdisciplinary methods. These domains enable students to create awareness and produce original projects. It is aimed that students create sustainable designs by producing projects that are compatible with fields such as Architecture, Industrial Design, Communication Design, Traditional Turkish Arts.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week Topics
1 Meeting and giving information about the course content.
2 Interdisciplinary design project examples and presentations related to sustainability issues.
3 Information on interdisciplinary design project phases: Analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation.
4 Presentation about the interaction and common working areas between the discipline of Graphic Design and Traditional Turkish Handicrafts discipline.
5 Presentation about the interaction between Graphic Design discipline and Interior Architecture discipline and common working areas.
6 Presentation about the interaction and common working areas between Graphic Design discipline and Communication Design discipline.
7 Presentation about the interaction between Graphic Design discipline and Architecture discipline and common working areas.
8 Midterm exam.
9 Interdisciplinary design topics are determined interactively with students and teams are formed. Project 1: Experimental project design applications between 2 different disciplines by determining a Graphic Design discipline and a different discipline within each team.
10 Informing about the stages of project creation in interdisciplinary designs.Planning the design idea and process of the teams formed. Examination of projects and giving criticism.
11 After the project presentation of each team, the project will be examined and criticised.Informing about the use of graphic design programmes that should be used for the development of the project.
12 Examination of the designs in the project applications determined by the teams and giving criticism. Informing about bringing the output of the project for the next week.
13 Examination and criticism of the project application outputs determined by the teams.
14 In addition to the corrections made as a result of the evaluation of the outputs, notifications are made for the final exam submission.
