Course Content
This course provides an overview of the whole ICM. It introduces the ICM, looks into its historical evolution and discusses its current growth and development. It also examines the key requisites for the proper functioning of the capital markets. It also offers an in-depth discussion of general Shariah principles related to ICM and analyses the key contracts used in ICM. This course provides an introduction to the Sukuk market and examines the classification of Sukuk and the issues and challenges facing the Sukuk market. It then provides an overview of the Islamic equity markets by exploring the aspects of Shariah-compliant stocks and their screening process.
Objectives of the Course
Capital markets play an important role in promoting an efficient financial system. This course focuses on the Islamic Capital Markets and explains its functions, objectives, and components such as Sukuk Markets, Shariah Compliant Stocks, Islamic Funds, etc., growth and development, and key requisites.
