Course Content
Developmental psychopathology is the study of the etiology and developmental pathways of pathology in young children and adolescents. From a developmental perspective, pathology is not perceived as a disorder of the individual, but rather as a problem of adjustment between the individual and his or her context. The study of childhood psychological disorders has led many researchers and psychologists to reconsider the boundaries between self and other, body and mind. Psychopathology changes and transforms throughout the developmental process, depending on interpersonal relationships, educational situations and institutional treatment. All these aspects must be taken into account in order to understand how disorders form, develop and sometimes diminish.
Objectives of the Course
This course aims to enable students to adopt approaches, methods and basic findings on the developmental treatment of childhood and adolescence psychopathological phenomena.
