Course Content
This course covers the fundamental principles and engineering applications of ultrasonic technologies. Topics covered include the structure of sound waves, types of ultrasonic waves, the piezoelectric effect and materials, the operating principles of transducers, and system components such as generators, boosters, and horns. Design criteria such as resonance frequency, amplitude, and impedance matching are also examined. Industrial applications such as ultrasonic cleaning, welding, inspection, and measurement systems are introduced; and basic analytical and numerical modeling of ultrasonic systems is taught. The course aims to develop a holistic perspective on the field by supporting theoretical knowledge with application examples and simple experimental designs.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to enable students to learn the physical foundations, operating principles, and engineering applications of ultrasonic technologies. In addition to fundamental concepts such as ultrasonic vibration, wave propagation, and the piezoelectric effect, the course aims to provide knowledge of industrial applications such as ultrasonic welding, cleaning, testing, and measurement systems.
