Course Content
Concepts, definitions, the Industrial Revolution and the French Revolution, basic information about the Ottoman Empire. The Tanzimat and Islahat Decrees, the First and Second Constitutional Periods, the Tripoli War, the Balkan Wars, World War I, the Armistice of Mudros, Mustafa Kemal Pasha's dispatch to Anatolia, rallies and congresses held in Anatolia, the Assembly of Representatives and its opening in Ankara, military operations on the Eastern and Western fronts, the Commander-in-Chief Law, the Treaty of Lausanne, the abolition of the Sultanate and the Caliphate, the establishment of the Republic.
Objectives of the Course
The aim is to analyze the socio-cultural, socio-economic, and political aspects of Turkish revolutionary history on a cause-and-effect basis, thereby creating a foundation for understanding the stages leading to the Republic of Turkey.
