| 2 | Discussion on the nature and process of translation. Translation of some sentences taken from literary texts. |
| 3 | Some problems encountered in the translation of literary texts are shown on a paragraph basis and a paragraph is translated. |
| 4 | Discussing the standards to be observed in translation and translating a passage from a short story. |
| 5 | Discussing the relationship between culture and language. Translation of a short culturally focused text. |
| 6 | Giving information about translation methods. Application of semantic and communicative methods that are faithful to the text at sentence and paragraph level. |
| 7 | Discussion of linguistic universality. Translation of a passage from a short story (E.T.) |

| 9 | Text types and selection of translation method suitable for text types. Translation of some sentences taken from scientific and literary texts. |
