Course Content
Recognise the principles and rules to be followed in the translation of each genre by selecting examples of novels, stories, fairy tales, poems, plays, travel and similar genres and develop the ability to translate in the light of these rules
Objectives of the Course
To be able to recognize literary text types and to develop their skills about translating these types of texts.

1 Giving information about the studies and activities to be carried out this term and taking the opinions of the students
2 Reviewing the materials taught in the first semester and translating a short text
3 Translation into Turkish of an English story selected from contemporary literature. Obtaining students' opinions on translation methods
4 Translating a text from a selected English novel and discussing the products
5 If a short English story is translated into Turkish, comparison of the translations made by different authors
6 Determining the literary arts in the analysis of an English poem and its translation into Turkish
7 Discussing different translation methods used by translators and translating a literary text
8 Midterm Exam
9 Translating a part from an English play into Turkish and discussing how different cultural elements are expressed
10 Translating a part from a Turkish novel into English and comparing and discussing the products
11 Translating a part of a short Turkish story into English and examining the products
12 Translation of an excerpt from an English story or novel translated into Turkish back into English by the students and comparison of the translations
13 Discussion of the translator's responsibility and limit. Examining and examining the mistakes that students make frequently with examples
14 Examining, discussing and comparing the term paper in class. Evaluation of the term in terms of students
