Course Content
1. To examine the fundamental theories and theorists in the field of communication. 2. To identify the influence of the American tradition, which laid the foundation for communication studies. 3. To reveal the effects of dominant paradigms and theoretical approaches on science, education, and other areas of social life. 4. To synthesize the relationships between theory and practice. 5. To demonstrate what solutions theories can offer to social problems. 6. To highlight the interdisciplinary nature of communication by revealing the influences of different fields of social sciences such as history, sociology, and psychology on communication theories. 7. To analyze the relationships between communication theories and social structure. 8. To conduct a critical reading of theoretical approaches within mainstream approaches.
