Course Content
Analysis of original reading passages such as short stories, magazines, newspapers, and academic texts; writing paragraphs, compositions, and reflective essays; developing advanced critical thinking skills through information transfer; problem solving and inference; examining and comparing descriptive and narrative paragraphs.
Objectives of the Course
Academic reading and writing skills; critical reading and note-taking with a thematic and integrated approach; writing articles using different organizational structures and making presentations on the subject as a result of reading and writing activities; citation techniques

2 6A: Listening and Speaking: Reading to prepare for a lecture, noticing the language of changes and trends, and talking about a country's economy.
3 6B: Reading: Understanding the main trend in a graph, following changes and trends in texts, and using expressions of time, place, and quantity.
4 7A: Listening and Speaking: Reading to prepare for a seminar, distinguishing facts and opinions, expressing opinions, and using language for agreeing and disagreeing.
5 7C: Writing 1: Writing passive sentences about the steps in a process and forming short evaluative sentences about a process.
6 8C: Writing 1: Studying cause-and-effect sentence patterns and writing cause-and-effect sentences in different forms.
