In this course, the emergence of cities, the roots of the concept of living together in Turkish-Islamic culture will be emphasized. The function of knowledge in the community will be examined in order that the understanding of living together will be harmonious and sustainable. Accordingly, the geographical location and climate of Konya will be explained. The Turkish conquest of Konya will be given. The population and settlement status of the city will be examined. Administrative, religious, social and educational structures in Konya will be explained. In the meantime, the Mevlevilik and Mevlana religions will be emphasized. By analyzing the concept of-madrasa, which is the place where the course is held, Celaleddin Karatay and Karatay Madrasa, which are the inspiration source of our university, will be analyzed with their socio-cultural dimensions.

At the end of this course, the student will be able to understand the importance of urban culture, accordingly, learn how the Turkish-Islamic civilization brings to the feras and the society, and how the Turkish-Islamic culture will provide optimal benefits in terms of the social existence of the people, and the culture of co-existence covers not only the present but also the past and the future.
