Course Content
Anatomical and biomechanical principles of the hand and upper extremity; rehabilitation principles following soft tissue problems, fractures, joint disorders, and nerve injuries; the role of occupational therapy within a multidisciplinary team; assessment and training of activities of daily living; principles and applications of transfer activities; evaluation and treatment of hand function, sensation, and sensory integration; and occupational therapy approach principles for different conditions.
Objectives of the Course
To explain common hand and upper extremity problems, assessment methods and rehabilitation approaches. In rehabilitation team work, it is aimed to explain the role of work and occupational therapy (ergotherapy), to define basic occupational and occupational evaluation methods in performance areas, to give basic information and application examples about developing appropriate occupational and occupational approaches.
