Definition and branches of zoning law, sources of zoning law, legal framework of planning in Turkey, planning levels, relevant central and local units, development of zoning legislation in Turkey, important articles of the Zoning Law, other important laws (Environmental Law, Coastal Law, Culture and Tourism Law). Natural Heritage Protection Law, Tourism Law, etc.), criticism of zoning legislation in Turkey, examples from court decisions

1 Historical development of law, rules and regulations for communal arrangement.
2 The ning of laws, common law, case law, the main aspects of law: universality, continuity and sanction.
3 Legislative and administrative aspects of urban planning.
4 The effects of property relation on urban planning process, advantages of public lands for planning.
5 Historical development of legislative aspects of urban planning in Turkey and urban planning process in relation to central and local governments.
6 The existing organization of urban planning in Turkey, planning hierarchy
7 Planning hierarchy, regional plan-structural plan-development plan, central and local planning authorities, ministries, metropolitan municipalities.
8 Laws and by-laws of urban planning, Development Law, Coastal Law, Conservation Law, etc.
9 Midterm
10 Specific development plans for tourism, conservation, mass housing and organized industrial zone.
11 Rules, regulations and tools for building (urban coding): total construction area, building type, building height, number of floors, etc.
12 A paradox that rules and regulations may not be compatible with the terms of urbanism, such as human scale, privacy, spatial continuity.
13 Implementation process of urban planning, main issues and terms: cadastral plots, development plots, land readjustment,expropriation, architectural project,etc.
14 Inequitable sharing of urban rent in the society.
