Course Content
This course examines ecosystems, ecological construction methods and bioclimatic design, as well as environmental issues. It provides guidance on exploring ecological principles in interaction with the environment. The course will also cover passive solar architecture, daylight utilisation, renewable energy technologies, cradle-to-grave and demountable design, and zero-carbon/emission strategies, as well as other sustainable design principles. Case studies will be analysed to examine their successful and unsuccessful aspects.
Objectives of the Course
The general objective of the semester course is to strengthen the knowledge and sensitivity towards an ecological and sustainable design.
