| Methods and Techniques | This course will utilize lecture, question-and-answer sessions, discussion, problem-based learning, and brainstorming techniques. Additionally, active participation will be encouraged through case studies of operating room workflow processes, the evaluation of current guidelines and protocols related to operating room management (e.g., World Health Organization surgical safety practices), instruction supported by audiovisual materials, and student presentations. |

Course Content
The physical structure and organization of the operating room, operating room planning and workflow processes, the operating room team and internal communication, leadership and management approaches, workforce planning and task allocation, operating room time management and scheduling of surgical lists, supply and inventory management, management of sterilization and infection control processes, patient safety practices and the World Health Organization surgical safety checklist, quality management and accreditation standards, risk management and crisis management in the operating room, operating room information management systems, ethical and legal responsibilities, and organizational processes aimed at the effective and efficient delivery of operating room services.
Objectives of the Course
The objective of this course is to teach the principles of management and organization in operating room services, and to equip students with the skills to plan operating room workflows, manage resources, coordinate teams, and implement quality and safety standards, thereby enabling them to contribute to effective and efficient operating room management.
