Course Content
Explanation of the program, basic concepts in patient care, communication and principles of communication, relationships of the patient and other members of the healthcare team, protection of health, hospital infections; asepsis, antisepsis, disinfection and sterilization methods, sleep and rest. Vital signs; pulse, respiration, blood pressure, body temperature, body mechanics and positions, principles of body mechanics, moving and turning the patient, medication administration, routes of medication administration; oral route, parenteral route, intravenous fluid administration and application method, blood transfusion. Nutritional requirements, meeting the individual's basic needs, excretory system, most common excretory problems, enema application, urinary system, physiology of the urinary system, characteristics of normal urine, urinary catheter application, bladder irrigation, care of the dying patient and the concept of death, physiological needs of the dying individual, changes occurring at, before, and after death, and laboratory studies.
