Course Content
The concept of addiction, addictive substances, substance addiction diagnostic criteria, addiction process and cycle, psycho-social characteristics of substance addicts; their problems; prevention, treatment and rehabilitation of substance abuse, social work interventions for substance addicts and their families; sample cases.
Objectives of the Course
It is to introduce the field of substance abuse and to enable students to acquire the necessary professional knowledge and skills to perform social work intervention at micro, mezzo and macro levels through case studies in this field.
