Course Content
This course covers fundamental concepts and historical development of occupational health and safety; the duties, authorities, and responsibilities of occupational physicians and safety specialists in the workplace; the concepts of risk, hazard, primary, secondary, and tertiary protection; physical, chemical, biological, and psychosocial risks; and occupational health and safety legislation and practices in workplaces.
Objectives of the Course
This course aims to enable students to identify the causes of occupational accidents and diseases, to determine safety measures in the workplace by acquiring knowledge and skills to prevent occupational accidents and diseases, and to evaluate occupational health and safety legislation through its application in the workplace.
