Course Content
CAD/CAM concepts and importing CAD models into CAM software. Stock material definition and work coordinate system (WCS) setup. 2.5-axis and 3-axis CNC milling and CNC turning CAM applications. Tool library creation, cutting tool and parameter selection. Toolpath generation, simulation, and collision analysis. Post-processing and G/M code generation.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to provide students with the skills to execute and manage Computer-Aided Manufacturing (CAM) processes based on Computer-Aided Design (CAD) models. Within the scope of the course, it is aimed to teach CAD/CAM integration, generation of 2D and 3D toolpaths, selection of cutting parameters (spindle speed, feed rate, depth of cut), milling and turning CAM applications, simulation and collision checks, and generating G and M codes (post-processing) for CNC machines.
