Course Content
Fundamental principles of statics and strength of materials; SI units and unit conversions; vectors and forces; equilibrium of particles and rigid bodies; resultants of force systems; moments and couples; free-body diagrams; support reactions; structural analysis; truss systems; shear force and bending moment; normal and shear stresses; strain and deformation; mechanical properties of materials; axial loading; torsion; bending; cross-sectional area and area moment of inertia; buckling; and engineering applications.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to provide students with fundamental knowledge of statics and strength of materials, including force and moment equilibrium, support reactions, internal forces, stress, and strain calculations. The course aims to develop students' ability to evaluate the behavior of engineering components under loads and solve basic engineering problems using analytical methods.
