Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week Topics
Introductions and introductions; brief information about the language and culture; the objectives of the lesson; the behaviors required of the student, materials, discipline, absenteeism, types of exams and weeks are discussed and, if the alphabet of the language is different, letters and numbers are introduced.
Saying hello, morning greetings, evening farewells, asking for names. For this purpose, the most accepted language material is given to the learner first aurally and then in writing. A pairing is made and students are asked to perform these activities. The pairing is repeated 3 times, alternating.
Last week's activity is repeated with changes. Writing activity is done in different alphabets. Students try to read each other's writing.
Asking and answering first and last names.
Don't ask and tell numbers and age. Saying thank you
Consolidation: students are asked to say "hello, good morning, what is your name, what is your surname, how old are you, thank you and goodbye"in a single dialogue.
MIDTERM EXAM The exercise from the previous week is asked in the same test. The teacher decides on the pairings. This ensures that the dialog is meaningful. (If the class size is 25, an oral exam is given, if over 25, a written exam is given. The scope and style of the oral exam is similar and identical to the ones given in class. Written exams consist of multiple choice, true-false, fill-in-the-blank and/or short paragraphs).
Ask and learn Nationality and Country information: What is your nationality? Which country are you from? Country and nationality names are taught.
A sample dialog is given by combining the information learned in the previous week with the information until the exam. Hello, What is your name, What is your surname, How are you, How old are you, What is your nationality, What is your hometown, Thank you, Goodbye The speech is made to each student.
"I don't understand, could you repeat that, please? Of course."Only these expressions are taught in this lesson.
After questions such as name, age, nationality, etc., the expression "I didn't understand, can you repeat it, please?"is taught. "OK, of course I can repeat it."
In Week 9, the student is asked to make a dialog by combining what was learned in Week 11 with what was done in Week 9.
Spelling. If spelling is possible, "Can you spell your name?""OK, sure". Saying skill is taught.
Week 11 dialogue is enriched with what was learned in Week 13.
