Hayatın içinden konular seçilerek, okuma, dinleme, yazma ve konuşma becerilerini geliştirmeyi amaçlayan çoğunlukla partner çalışmalarından güç alan aktivitelerden oluşan ve dil bilgisini örtülü şekilde kazandırmayı amaçlayan bir yapıda olan içerikler bütünüdür.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to enable students to develop their basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills by providing exposure to English, a foreign language they will be intertwined with in their professional lives.

P2 To be able to master the main issues, theories, terminology and applications related to civil aviation cabin services. 1
P3 Ability to analyze the service models, operational processes and organizational structures of national and international airline companies; to follow current developments in the field of civil aviation cabin services and to integrate these innovations into flight services and passenger satisfaction processes. 1
P4 To be able to act in accordance with the legal framework in cabin service operations and to apply the safety, responsibility and ethical standards of the sector by being competent in the national and international legal rules, legislation and regulations regulating the civil aviation sector. 1
P5 Nationally and internationally; to be knowledgeable about aircraft, aviation logistics, air cargo, tourism. 1
P6 To be able to carry out civil aviation cabin services processes in accordance with legal regulations by being competent in the Turkish Civil Aviation Law and international civil aviation legislation. 1
P7 To be able to master basic practices such as first aid, announcement, catering and diction techniques within the scope of civil aviation cabin services and to use these skills effectively to ensure passenger satisfaction and safety during the flight. 2
Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week Topics
1 Course Introduction: Overview of the Semester, Unit Summaries, Lessons, Presentations, and Assignments.
2 This week, students will discuss their past hobbies, favorite places, and music. The focus is on using the past tense to talk about significant events in the past. Students will complete a mini-bio writing assignment using transitional phrases such as "after that," "then," and "next" to enhance their writing skills.
3 Students will practice using past tense verbs as they discuss their leisure activities. This unit also includes practice with the present continuous tense and common adjectives. Students will engage in dialogues about clothing and appearance, simulating real-life situations.
4 Students will practice using comparative adjectives while discussing transportation and giving directions. The week will focus on language structures used for giving directions, and students will work on reading passages about interesting transportation methods. Additionally, they will practice giving directions to a place.
5 Students will focus on language related to work goals, learning specific structures used in professional contexts, such as articles ("a," "an," "the") and adjectives. There will also be a review of present simple and continuous, as well as phrasal verbs. Students will present on professions that no longer exist and listen to a podcast about volunteer work.
6 This week, students will discuss their travel plans and work on grammar involving "be going to" and superlative adjectives. Additionally, there will be focus on common expressions used in telephone conversations. An exciting reading passage about travel will be shared, and students will participate in a role-play activity simulating telephone conversations.
7 Students will learn common expressions used for booking hotels and rooms. The week focuses on phrases typically used in travel scenarios and making requests at hotels. Students will engage in practical conversations, improving their speaking skills related to hotels and travel.
8 Midterm exam, revision and answering questions
9 Students will focus on language used for making requests and polite inquiries during travel and hotel stays. Phrases like "Can I have...?" and "Could you please...?" will be practiced. Additionally, students will develop dialogues using vocabulary they have learned in previous weeks.
10 This week, students will practice expressing hotel room requests and making special requests at hotels. Presentations and assignments will be reviewed, and students will reinforce their grammar knowledge through more detailed practice on travel-related topics.
11 This week, students will learn to express leisure activities using the present continuous tense. They will also focus on adjectives related to clothes and appearance, using these to describe activities in the present tense. In group activities, students will practice using these structures by asking and answering questions about their leisure activities. They will also give mini-presentations about their hobbies and interests, incorporating expressions of feelings to describe the activities. This week will help students improve both their grammar and speaking skills while practicing vocabulary related to leisure activities.
12 In this week, students will focus on learning comparative adjectives and applying them to describe modes of transportation. They will practice giving directions using expressions such as "turn left," "go straight," and "take the first right." The class will work in pairs to role-play asking for and giving directions, incorporating vocabulary related to places in a city. Additionally, students will read a text about interesting modes of transport and discuss how transportation can influence urban life. This week will improve their speaking skills in real-life situations and enhance their vocabulary for both travel and directions.
13 In this week, students will focus on setting career goals and review the use of a, an, the, and zero articles. They will also revisit present simple and continuous tenses, particularly in relation to describing daily routines and tasks in the workplace. Students will give a presentation on careers that no longer exist, explaining the nature of these jobs and why they have disappeared. The study of phrasal verbs will help students understand and use commonly used expressions in the professional world. Additionally, students will listen to a podcast on volunteer work, discussing how such roles relate to career goals and how they can impact one's professional development.
14 Students will take the final exam covering all topics studied throughout the course. Additionally, project presentations will be given.
