Hayatın içinden konular seçilerek, okuma, dinleme, yazma ve konuşma becerilerini geliştirmeyi amaçlayan çoğunlukla partner çalışmalarından güç alan aktivitelerden oluşan ve dil bilgisini örtülü şekilde kazandırmayı amaçlayan bir yapıda olan içerikler bütünüdür.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to enable students to develop their basic reading, writing, speaking and listening skills by providing exposure to English, a foreign language they will be intertwined with in their professional lives.

Weekly Detailed Course Contents
Week Topics
1 •Sharing of course content and student expectations. •Introduction and ice-breaker activities. •Discussion on personal language goals.
2 Students learn the "Present Simple: to be" structure and use it to introduce themselves. They practice sharing personal information such as age, occupation, and hobbies. Students create and present introduction dialogues.
3 Students practice different question structures for introductions and sharing personal information. They practice answering questions like "What's your name?" and "Where are you from?" through short conversations in the group.
4 Students learn to talk about family members. They practice asking and answering questions about family relationships and sharing this information. Additionally, students are asked to prepare and present a family tree in the group.
5 Students use possessive adjectives ("my, your, his, her") to describe family members' relationships. Group discussions about family relationships are held, and students practice speaking about their family using possessive adjectives.
6 Students practice more conversations about relationships. They learn how to answer questions like "How many siblings do you have?" and engage in detailed discussions about relationships between family members.
7 Students use the "Present Simple" to construct affirmative sentences about their daily routines. They talk about their daily life, including their morning routine, school life, and hobbies, while participating in class Q&A activities.
8 •Midterm exam. •Review of units, writings, and assignments.
9 Students work on using negative and interrogative sentences when describing their habits. "Do you usually wake up early?" They practice answering questions like: Also learns basic English words about rooms and objects. This week, we work on describing rooms with expressions such as "this, that, these, those". Students introduce and describe the items in their rooms.
10 Students describe and talk about their belongings. Additionally, they complete a writing assignment on how to describe a room.
11 Students learn regular verbs in the past tense. They practice discussing past routines and habits. This week, students write and share about their past routines and habits.
12 This week, students learn irregular verbs in the past tense and use them to share memories. Grammar exercises focused on irregular verbs are conducted, and students complete writing activities.
13 Students practice asking about prices and talking about prices during shopping. They focus on countable and uncountable nouns. Students create shopping dialogues in groups using expressions like "How much is it?" and "How many are there?" to ask about prices and quantities.
14 Students develop their ability to use the past tense to tell stories about past events. This week, students share interesting events they experienced in the past and practice storytelling in the past tense. Grammar exercises are also conducted, and students participate in storytelling activities in groups.
15 Final exam. Review of general topics and words. Evaluation of presentations and assignments.
