Course Content
This course aims to equip students to interact with academic texts while helping them fully acquire both active and passive knowledge of vital academic and technical terminology in their fields. Students read high-interest texts from engineering sciences. The course also places a strong emphasis on improving reading skills relevant to the academic classroom, such as scanning, inference, working with graphs and tables, and recognizing context clues. In addition, students develop the skills necessary for a critical approach to texts in English, comprehending the ideas and values stated or implied, comparing the writers' ideas with their own.
Objectives of the Course
The central basis of ING 2102 is to consolidate students' academic and critical approaches to thinking, reading, speaking, writing and language usage, as initiated in ING 1102. In addition,
