Course Content
Introduction to foundation engineering, foundation-soil relationship, foundation and shallow foundation types, bearing capacity of foundation and soil according to foundation type, design of foundation according to foundation stress and moment, stability calculations of slopes according to soil properties and stratification. Bearing capacities and analyses of supporting structures and earthworks, other types of foundations and their application areas.
Objectives of the Course
To understand the relationship between soil and structure. To emphasize that the strength of the strongest structures is as much as the foundations, by emphasizing the importance of the foundations in relation with the ground. To teach the superficial foundation types which are the transfer elements of building loads to the ground. To calculate the load amount of foundation types and bearing capacities of foundation ground. To calculate the stability of slopes. To teach the durability types, calculation methods and all investigations including earthings. To introduce other basic types.
