Course Content
This course examines the psychological foundations, development, and dynamics of close relationships from a multidimensional perspective. The course begins by examining the definition, types, and theoretical frameworks of close relationships; fundamental topics such as love, attachment, attraction, and the beginning of a relationship are covered in detail. Subsequently, factors that play a role in maintaining relationships, such as communication, conflict resolution, trust, loyalty, and commitment, are addressed.
Objectives of the Course
This course will cover the psychological dynamics, theoretical foundations, and practical dimensions of close relationships. The aim is for students to understand how romantic relationships, friendships, and family relationships are formed, developed, and maintained; to be able to distinguish healthy and unhealthy patterns in relationships; and to comprehend the effects of cultural, gender, and individual differences on relationships. Furthermore, students will be able to follow current research findings in the field of intimate relationships and apply this knowledge in both personal and professional contexts.
