Course Content
"Within the scope of this course, the definition of crime and criminal behavior, the historical development of the concept of crime, personality traits associated with a tendency toward crime, criminal responsibility and its related criteria, as well as legal capacity criteria are addressed. In addition, the relationship between substance abuse and crime, mental disorders and crime, and the biological and sociological factors influencing the emergence of criminal behavior are examined.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to introduce the fundamental concepts, theories, and application areas of forensic psychology; to explain the relationship between psychology and the legal system; and to enable students to understand the psychological aspects of crime, offenders, victims, and individuals involved in judicial processes. The course also aims to provide students with basic knowledge of psychological assessment, reporting, and ethical principles in forensic settings.
