Course Content
This course covers the basic concepts and theoretical approaches of traffic psychology. Driver behavior, risky and aggressive driving, speeding violations, and the effects of alcohol and substance use on traffic are examined. Psychological processes such as attention, perception, reaction time, and decision-making in traffic are discussed. In addition, the psychological causes of traffic accidents, driver assessment methods, and psychological intervention and education programs aimed at improving traffic safety are included in the course content.
Objectives of the Course
The aim of this course is to examine human behavior in traffic from a psychological perspective. The cognitive, emotional, and behavioral processes of drivers, pedestrians, and other road users are addressed. Psychological factors such as attention, perception, decision-making, risk-taking, and stress and their effects on traffic safety are analyzed. The course aims to enable students to evaluate traffic accidents in terms of psychological causes and develop preventive approaches.
