Course Content
A brief history of experimental psychology; Research techniques: Observation, experimentation, and correlation; Ethical principles in psychology research; Psychophysics; Perception; Attention and reaction time; Conditioning and learning; Remembering and forgetting; Thinking and problem-solving; Individual differences and development; Social and environmental psychology; Human factors; Reporting experiments and communicating results.
Objectives of the Course
The course introduces experimental and quasi-experimental designs to determine causal and correlational relationships in psychology. Validity, reliability and ethical problems in research are addressed and it is aimed to develop research planning, writing and evaluation skills with the group.
