Course Content
The course starts with the concept of strategic management and its historical development. It continues with strategic analysis tools such as business environment analysis, SWOT analysis, PESTEL analysis. Within the scope of the course, ways to provide competitive advantage, strategy development, implementation and control processes are discussed. Factors affecting the strategic management process such as strategic leadership, business culture and ethics are emphasised. In addition, corporate level strategies, business unit strategies and functional strategies are analysed. Case studies and current strategic management approaches are used to reinforce students' theoretical knowledge. At the end of the course, students gain the competence to solve the problems that may be encountered in the strategic management process and to create effective business policies.
Objectives of the Course
This course aims to provide students with the basic concepts of strategic management process and strategic decision-making skills in the business world. Students will gain knowledge about the formulation of business policies, sustaining competitive advantage and developing strategies through environmental analysis. This course aims to develop strategic approaches to long-term planning, adaptation to environmental changes and efficient use of organisational resources.
