1- Explaining the content of the course, introduction to pre-Ottoman Turkish weaving
Objectives of the Course
It covers general information about traditional Turkish weaving, color, texture, motif features of traditional fabrics from the Ottoman period, technical weaving properties of fabrics and theoretical information about their usage areas. In this context, old Turkish fabrics are introduced to the students in terms of their technical and motif features. These fabrics are analyzed categorically. While teaching the characteristics of traditional Turkish fabrics, it is provided to create a basis for new designs by making use of their color, pattern and motif details. In addition, by giving information about the examples of world fabric art, comparison with Turkish fabrics is provided. In this context, the aim of the course is to introduce the traditional and prominent Turkish fabrics to the students in terms of technique and design and to gain the student's personal interpretation about traditional Turkish fabric weaving.
