Course Content
Providing general information on the history of Turkish Decorative Arts. Introducing the main styles used in Turkish Decorative Arts through examples. Providing information on patterns (the importance of patterns, their classification, and pattern drawing techniques). Teaching the selected decoration for application in accordance with the rules of pattern and processing, with drawing stages, and conducting selected studies appropriate to the subject.
Objectives of the Course
To examine and analyze the various branches of Turkish art decoration from its inception to the present day, in terms of their motifs, styles, and technical characteristics. To evaluate traditional Turkish ornaments (ornaments) through works, to teach the styles and motifs applied in different periods, and to provide accurate and complete identification and application of ornaments used as decorative elements in both past and present-day designs, according to their respective periods.

1 Know the definition of decoration (ornament), its application areas, and the terms of decorations (ornament) .
2 Grouping of Decorative Arts (Calligraphy, Illumination Art, Bookbinding Art.)
3 Grouping of Decoration Arts (Carved Decoration, Wood Decoration, Tile and Ceramic Art.)
4 Grouping of Decorative Arts (Plaster Decoration, Stone and Brick Decoration, Glass Art, Metal Art.)
5 Providing information about the motifs and decoration styles seen in Turkish Art from its beginning to the present day.
6 Explaining similar and different features affecting the decoration elements on different surfaces with examples.
7 Midterm Exam
8 Introducing the classical pattern types used in Turkish decorative arts and providing information about pattern drawing techniques.
9 ntroduction of the arrangement systems of the area to be decorated (decorated).
10 Drawing of motifs and patterns according to drawing techniques.
11 Continuing to draw motifs and patterns according to drawing techniques.
12 Drawing patterns appropriate to the surface to be decorated and using transfer methods to the surface to be processed.
13 Processing of patterns drawn and transferred to the surface to be decorated.
14 Final Exam, completion and evaluation of studies.
